Last year I discovered the sock monkey. And via Alison B, Peng-Peng. How cute are her monkey’s! On Friday night just gone Alison M and I had a monkey sew-off. All I would say if you’re going to make one, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, carefully and slowly. We had a couple of near misses but managed to bumble and giggle our way through it.
I’ve decided my monkey’s a girl and she’s going to be decked out in 50’s attire. Pearl accessories, little frock with a boat neck and 3/4 length sleeves with fitted bodice and wide skirt. She’ll probably have a felt hat (pillbox) and felt shoes, maybe a felt flower brooch (this is going to be one accessorised monkey) and she’ll have knickers of course. As much as I lurve her butt , she needs panties.
I spent quite a lot of time on Saturday handsewing on her arms, tail, ears and mouth. I think I’ll definitely be making more of these, I don’t quite know why but I like them. AND the spooky thing was on Saturday night Chris and I were continuing with our watching of the Sopranos (from series 1) and what should we see? Tony as a child with his sock monkey!
