Tuesday’s blues

Shash ‘n Mav have come up with an excellent concept. Focus on particular colours when taking photo’s for this week:

monday-yellows
tuesday-blues, turquoises
wednesday-greens
thursday-whites or browns or blacks
friday-oranges
saturday-reds or purples or pinks

I don’t/won’t talk about my day job on the blog, however as it’s somewhere I spend 40 plus hours a week it is a big part of my life, obviously. Next week will be my 4th year anniversary. The longest I think I’ve been in my adult life. The business produces graphic design (anything from corporate identity, branding, brochures, websites, signage as examples). I’m the Production Manager. Sounds fancy, but what it mostly means is I’m the whipcracker. Yep you heard right. I’m responsible for making sure the job comes out the other end on time and to specification. As the business is small, there’s 6 of us, I also do a bunch of other stuff I wouldn’t normally do in a bigger studio. I don’t mind this, keeps me active and I get bored quickly.

So I thought this week I’d tie in the colour photography with my work place view. Here’s a sample, larger view at flickr. From left to right. The view from my desk, the wall used to be this cacky federation dark green, this blue is so much more appealing, the chandelier is new and I love it! To the right of that is the glass panel in front of my desk. Hides my mess πŸ™‚ . Then we have a painting that’s in the boardroom, it measures about 3metres x 1metre. It’s amazing, painted by an Australian artist, Larry Mitchell. This particular scene is on Rottnest Island. We then have one of my co-workers sexy Rex x 2 and then the sky from the courtyard out the back. Typical West Australian blue!

Not sure which other colours I’ll be doing from my workplace this week, but probably the grey/black series! Lots of fun.

I love your take on this challenge. I see your feet in the bottom car pic- funny. πŸ™‚ I love looking for people in the reflections of a photo they take. One of my photos on Sunday is like that. πŸ™‚ I don’t talk about work either but not because I don’t want to..lol.. more like I’m challening “dooce” if you know what I mean. πŸ˜‰

Nice! I’ve always wondered what you did with that 40 hours a week… πŸ™‚ I knew it couldn’t all be cuppa with friends and baking yummy treats and sewing beautiful things.
The photo of the beach makes me ache for vacation.

I was just thinking someone should write up a post asking how many of us have worked in the graphic design, MarCom, and PR world. I think it’s a good share of us.
