I see one of these in my crafting future…

I’d been thinking about weaving. It’s been in my head, wondering how I was going to go about it, what it would cost to start another craft and did I really need to be doing it or even thinking about it? THEN I saw Donyale’s stunning scarf and her Ashford Knitter’s Loom and then I tripped over this tutorial in her blog comments AND it’s my birthday in October…So I think I do see weaving in my future. Insert happy jig here.

I’ve pinched the picture below from Donyale’s blog to show just how lovely it is.

i agree with leslie that Donyale’s scarf is lovely. weaving is just as satisfying as knitting, but you have to love the process because the actual weaving takes so little time. there’s so much that goes into making your warp and dressing the loom, and if you can muddle through that, which i actually loved, then you’ll take to it like a duck to water. hope you get your loom!

Damn you! That is droolworthy and gorgeous, and until this very moment I’ve never considered adding weaving to my ever growing list of things to do. Sigh, I need 72 hour days. And the ability to survive while never sleeping again.

Oooh! Very Very lovely. I have for a while also LOVED weaving product…but didn’t think was feasible. So thanks again for sharing…
My knitting continues to be thwarted by neck issues (?oh and maybe lack of skill?)
