bleach discharge

After seeing Elizabeth's post on this technique I had to give it a go. If you want to do a quick crafty project, well aside from waiting for the finished job to finish in the washing machine, this is it. I did this one evening after work, lots of fun. I used 500mls of bleach to about 3 litres of water.

I really love what this has done to the Liberty and the Kaffe.

oh, so gorgeous! i’m really loving this technique! i saw it on elizabeth’s blog too, and was super inspired.
how long did you leave yours in the bleach water for?

Oh mama — you are brave! I have to say, the day I take bleach to a liberty fabric! I’ve never even managed to cough up the $30 a yard for the stuff.
All that said, your fabrics came out beautifully. Hope all is well on your side of the pond!

I have an article about this that I saved somewhere… I should try this on some fabrics I was thinking about purging. Cool results.
I have to agree on the liberty though. You are one brave woman. I have my small bit of yardage in its own special spot. Sort of shrine to expensive fabric.

Hey Miss K. Brave, nah! I found this colourway a little intense and am really happy with the results. Yeah it is costly, but you can find deals on ebay… Hope you’re well. (.)(.)
