Hollygon Wreath is a sweet and scrappy quilt-as-you-go Christmas project you can display on your wall, hang on a door, or use flat as festive table decor.
It finishes at approximately 15.4" / 39cm diameter, and you can make it your way:
- Needleturn applique
- Raw-edge fusible applique
- Or no applique at all, using favourite Christmas fabrics and fussy cuts
Festive pentagons. A little hand stitching. A bit of Christmas sparkle. Excellent couch-sewing!

How the sew-along works
The sew-along is free.
The Hollygon Wreath pattern is a paid pattern.
When you sign up, you'll receive a welcome email and from the 25 July, once a week for 4 weeks I’ll send you weekly emails with tips that include text and short video, reminders and extra guidance to help you sew your Hollygon Wreath along with me.
You’ll need the Hollygon Wreath pattern (optional acrylic templates) to join in. The PDF pattern includes the printable templates, applique designs, pentagon window template, written instructions, photo instructions, and two hanging options.

How the sew-along works
The Hollygon Wreath Sew-Along starts on 25 July 2026.
Each week, I’ll send an email with what to focus on, tips to help you along, and gentle encouragement from the festive sewing bunker.
You can sew at your own pace. There is no need to keep up perfectly. This is Christmas in July, not a patchwork race!
Welcome email
Sign-up, get the pattern if you don’t already have it, read through the instructions, and start gathering your supplies. You'll receive a welcome email.
Gather your supplies ready for when we sew, read through the pattern and decide if you're adding small embellishments!
Week 1: 25 to 31 July 2026 - Email: Prep your pentagons. If doing an applique Hollygon choose and cut out fabrics.
Week 2: 1 to 7 August 2026 - Email: Let’s stitch. This week is for applique and decorative stitching.
Week 3: 8 to 14 August 2026 - Email: Fold, bind and quilt-as-you-go
This week we’ll fold the outer pentagon edges around each inner pentagon and stitch them down, creating the quilt-as-you-go bound edges.
Week 4: 15 to 21 August 2026 - Email: Join and finish your Hollygon Wreath. This week we’ll stitch the pentagons together into a wreath.
The pattern includes two hanging methods, or you can use Hollygon flat as table decor.
