Meet Yo, Bloom Buzz

Yo, Bloom Buzz is a playful embroidery design filled with stitched blooms, a buzzing bee, fabric yo-yos and sweet little details.

It brings together simple embroidery stitches with a little bit of fabric play, because apparently I cannot resist sneaking patchwork-y texture into just about everything I make.

The design includes:

• lazy daisy stitches
• satin stitch petals
• straight stitch texture
• long and short stitch
• colonial knots or French knots
• a dashed bee flight path
• optional sequins for a little extra twinkle
• dimensional fabric yo-yos

It’s bright, tactile, cheerful and full of movement.

The kind of project you can sit with in the evening, stitch slowly, and feel like you’re making something lovely one little detail at a time.

A little Hoop & Layer love

I stitched Yo, Bloom Buzz using one of my new-to-me favourite hoops from Hoop & Layer.

Their hoops are designed here in Australia and have a clever tightening bolt and hanging hook, which makes them especially lovely if you want to display your finished stitchery straight in the hoop.
